Nice report Javier. Although Tereken is still nervous. It will be interesting to see what is next. Also one question comes to mind, we may have gone over it before. When is the King commanding in person? I've gone with Lord Uhtred as a general, the King is doing other kingly stuff. Is there a mechanic for deciding when the King takes a personal interest? Sounds like a house rule.
It's up to the person writing the battle report, Sean. In Treyine's case, it is well-documented that Lord De La Warre is the general that leads the Treyine army, so the Altengard scouts obviously got confused and reported that the king himself was present on the battlefield. As we know, that would not have happened in Treyine. You can't trust an Altengard scout, you know! :)
Oops, I should add that I envisage the WR as representing not just the general or king, but also the logistics train, administrative quality and aggressiveness of the army. The death of a general leading to a change in WR could represent a change in any one of those.
Rally round the King (RrtK) and Warrior Heroes: Armies and Adventures (WHAA) are rules produced by TwoHourWargames for massed battles and skirmishing respectively. RrtK is a reimplementation of Warrior Heroes, which we used before RrtK came out. This blog has been set up to track my progress in playing these rules as part of a campaign. It is my intention, as part of my desire to play more games, to write up my games played using these rules on this blog and to record how the campaign progresses.
The RrtK campaign began in the Summer of 986 and will continue until the participants get bored and wander off. The WHAA campaign began with January 986 but has foundered since.
Both nations succeed on their national morale rolls so the war will continue. Likewise, Tereken will continue its invasion of Altengard next season.
ReplyDeleteThe Spear of St Lindorf has disappeared, lost on the battlefield. It will reappear in Autumn 995.
