Mater Dies - Treyine vs Tropilium - Summer 999

Hi All,

Late again. :(

Anyways here's the latest battle report. Remember to right click and open image in new tab to see them fully embiggened.

The battle was over quickly when I rolled a 6 for leader at risk after the legion took 1 hit. Unfortunately the legionnaires of Tropilium are fairly brittle, and I didn't take that into account. I also had a situation with the Wind Maiden ships. The troops in them failed their enemy threat tests and so one routed and one retired. I'm not sure if I played it right. I honestly don't really care for the wind maiden at this point, but she's on the list.

I was looking forward to the Heroic combat that was about to take place, but then the whole leader lost thing happened and it went from bad to worse for Tropilium.

In the ensuing major pursuit Tropilium lost two legionaries. But not the generals unit. Is this the end for Tropilium?

  2. With the loss of the Tropilium Emperor, a new Emperor is quickly installed to deal with the Treyine threat. Rolled a 6 and Tropilium suddenly has WR 4!

However, Tropilium morale takes a hit and goes down by 1, not that it matters if they lose the next battle.

Treyine morale remains strong. The invasion will continue.

What don't you like about the Wind Maiden? I would have thought that the ability to sail around the battlefield raining arrows on units that cannot fight back would be quite useful.

    1. It is quite useful but feels a tad like dirty pool. This is the first time I can remember the ships coming into "contact" with the enemy, but I could be wrong.

  3. I should have added that Tropilium retained the War Horn of Naz Goth. Obviously the general's aide was carrying it.

    1. Good news. I think it's the only thing keeping Tropilium in these battles.

    1. Thanks Ed. Mine don't show off the mechanics of the game quite as well. But I hope they capture the flavor.
