Introduction
Rally round the King (RrtK) and Warrior Heroes: Armies and Adventures (WHAA) are rules produced by TwoHourWargames for massed battles and skirmishing respectively. RrtK is a reimplementation of Warrior Heroes, which we used before RrtK came out. This blog has been set up to track my progress in playing these rules as part of a campaign. It is my intention, as part of my desire to play more games, to write up my games played using these rules on this blog and to record how the campaign progresses.
RrtK uses a seasonal campaign turn, so each turn lasts three months. Each season lasts three months and the year begins with Spring (January to March). Summer is April to June. Autumn lasts from July to September and Winter from October to December. This may not accord with our Terran perspective on the year, but Talomir is not Terra.
WHAA uses monthly turns. The idea is that the adventures of our characters will take place against the wider political landscape of the whole of Talomir, with their actions being influenced and affected by wars between the various nations. The characters may be able to go on quests to recover artefacts for their nations, spy on enemy armies or anything else we can imagine.
The RrtK campaign began in the Summer of 986 and will continue until I and my opponent get bored or get distracted by something else. The WHAA campaign began with January 986.
Wow! My battles are always grinding slog fests. Did you choose the spell or roll for it on the NPC caster table?
ReplyDeleteI always roll for the NPC magicians.
DeleteLooks like Altengard is the nation to beat! :)
ReplyDeleteCapalan National Morale is shaken by this defeat but they will fight on.
